Getting busy

With our new album done things are starting to get busy again for downhere. On Monday morning we met with a bio writer who will write a brand new bio for us which we are in desperate need of. Monday afternoon we were at a television studio to record a couple of songs and an interview for a show called '1 cubed'. This show plays in more than 35 countries and is available in many different languages. It sounds like it's a show that is really taking off right now. Then Monday night we stopped in at the national radio show Total Axxess. We had a lot of fun there. We did the world premier of two of our new songs, The More and A Better Way. Thanks to our fans for being all over their message-board!!

At 5AM Tuesday morning we were on the road for a full day of driving. We arrived in Minnesota around 10PM, but we did manage to get one more interview in while we drove. So tonight we play at Crown College in Minnesota then right after the show we drive through the night to Chicago where we'll do another radio stop and a visit with Christianity Today.

Can you tell there's a new album coming? We sure can and we can't wait!

Congrats Greg!!

I missed it! You'd think a musician would want to watch the Grammys. Oh well. Here's the good news, one of my favorite bands U2 cleaned up. Here's what they won.
*Album of the Year
*Best Rock Album
*Song of the Year for "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own"
*Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal for "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own"
*Best Rock Song for "City Of Blinding Lights"

The reason I mention all of this is because Greg Collins, who produced six songs for our next album worked with U2 on the album that won them all 5 Grammys. Congratulations Greg!!
Greg is the guy on the far left in the picture.

More Questions, More Answers... iPod Winner!

Hey! It's been a while since I've posted here, so the guys figured it was my turn today. So I join you today from my office - the corner table at Merridee's Breadbasket, one of my favorite hangs in Franklin. They just recently renovated and expanded enough so that now I can get a wireless connection from a business next door... is that geeky to be excited about that?!?

Holly asked a good question in commenting on Glenn's last post. Since we've got 2 different producers working on 6 songs each and we are self-producing 4, does that mean there will be 16 songs on the record? I'm afraid not - we don't want to give it ALL away right away! We are planning on putting 10-12 songs on the record and saving the rest for downloads, compilations, etc. Prepare yourself for an onslaught of downhere music over the next two years...

I played some of the rough mixes for some of the guys in my small group the other day - one of them, illusionist Brock Gill, posted a great note on his blog. It's always cool to hear other peoples' excitement about the record - I'm a little biased... He's got a great website - check it out!

And the winner is...Christina Zander, you have won a new iPod Nano courtesy of us (we're really nice guys)! We've sent you an email - if we don't hear from you before Monday, we'll have to draw another winner. So if you know Christina, you have two options: (a) Tell her so that she can collect her iPod, or (b) don't tell her and keep her away from her email until Monday, thus giving you a second chance to win.

That's it for now - time to go back to work - my battery's running low and I really have to go to the bathroom anyway... Thanks for stopping by - drop by the website or our MySpace page (for those of you that made it to the end here - we may be posting a rough demo of one of the new songs here in the next couple of days, so stay tuned!). Later!
